Personal Trainer...
Dear Fitness Seeker,
Today, I couldn't imagine doing anything with my life but being a
nutritionist, fitness coach and West Hollywood Personal Trainer. But it
wasn't that long ago I was so overweight I couldn't even move without
suffering serious pain.
Check out what I looked like at my heaviest -
I was three hundred and fifty nine pounds and totally unhappy. I
tried ignoring the problem. But putting my head in the sand was no
longer an option on one day when I was walking to my car after getting
something from Rubio’s Mexican Restaurant in 2001. I saw my profile,
and was completely bewildered by what I had become
I wasn’t just overweight, I looked like I abused myself with unhealthy habits, and didn’t even think of the consequences.
I had a completely meltdown when I got home when I realized just how bad my health had become.
I decided to focus my anger and disappoint in myself into something positive: getting fit.
So I did what I thought I was supposed to do: I learned a few basic
exercises from a magazine I picked up at the grocery store and I went
to work.
I was a man possessed, working out almost constantly. But when I checked my progress a couple months later, I came up totally empty.
It was totally frustrating. I thought I was doing everything right,
but nothing was happening. I decided that there had to be some sort of
secret that I just wasn’t getting. So I totally dedicated myself to
learning about weight loss and muscle gain. I spent countless hours
reading every book, magazine, pamphlet, website, and scrap of paper
that had any information on losing weight on it.
After I separated the nonsense from the truth I couldn’t believe what I had found.
It suddenly because painfully obvious why I wasn’t making any
progress with my weight loss program: I was taking the totally wrong
approach to exercising and nutrition. In fact, most people take the
exact same misguided approach.
With the truth finally in my hands, I tackled my weight loss
programs again, using all the exercise and nutrition tricks I picked up
through my readings.
Look what happened after that –
Even I was surprised at how well my new strategies worked.
At the time, I thought this would be the end it. I would
keep working out, enjoying having tons of energy and being free from
the constant pain I had to suffer, and that would be that.
Boy was I wrong...
After people started noticing what I had done to my body in
such a short period of time, they naturally started asking how I
accomplished it. Usually, I didn’t want to bore them with every little
secret I discovered about diet and fitness, so I usually just gave them a
few prime tips.
Months later, several of my co-workers to whom I had given
this advice strolled back into where I worked with new, slimmer
bodies. They credited my advice to helping them achieve their fitness
goals.
Seeing how good they felt after applying my knowledge helped me realize how much I loved helping people achieve their goals.
So I make a dramatic career change that would allow me to
have that feeling all the time: I became a West Hollywood Personal
Trainer. After I worked to earn my training certification, I founded
Positively Fit Personal Training with the mission of steering people
away from all the bull that kept them from losing weight.
